"The Grand Canyon" mokume gane paddle beads
Hello Everyone, Here's a pic of my "Grand Canyon" mokume gane paddle beads that I finished this morning. Now I just have to create a necklace with them... doing that this afternoon. Caio for now, Hector

Oh they are lush! Canot wait to see the finished piece! Hector, question for you. How do you get all your beads to be so uniform in shape? Mine always end up looking a bit 'wonky'.

Hi Hector, Looks like you're putting that buffer to work! These look like the kind of beads you want to feel! Love the colours and the shape too.

Gorgeous ... must pull out all my Grand Canyon pics one day and see what they inspire me to do or my Sedona ones perhaps, hadn't thought of that .... Thanks for the inspiration :)

These are TERRIFIC Hector...love the colours...shape...everything! The shape of the beads is really perfect for the mokume gane. The patterns on the beads look like aerial shots of a river system!

What beautiful beads, and I too want to know how you make such uniformly shaped beads! Gorgeous, and yes, great name!

Hector, question for you. How do you get all your beads to be so uniform in shape? Mine always end up looking a bit 'wonky'. Hi Ushas & France, Mel taught me a trick on how to get my beads sizes all the same size. It's by using a clay cutter, I generally use a medium sized square one. What you do is cut some bits of clay and combine an equal number of each per bead. Next I roll each one into a ball and shape 'em in the inner deep part of the palms of my hands. Then I squish it into the palm of my hands to flatten them a bit. Thanks everyone for all your nice comments. Yes, I can see what you mean about the aerial shots of a river system, Julz. Oh, yes.. Mel, I'm really getting my money's worth out of that buffer that I won on e-bay last year. And, Ushas... I'm sorry, I didn't get to make the necklace today 'cause was inspired to make an Inro in the end. Oh, well... that necklace is still on my list. :)
