I'll show you an example. I made this necklace a while ago. A very simple design but it is textured with oils and slightly hollow domed ( you can't see the domed effect in this pic) and the colours are beautiful if worn against a black top (as I was wearing it on this particular day, black roll-neck jumper and jeans). A lady brought it because of the colours and simple design; she said it was just the kind of thing she was looking for. I was so surprised that she wanted it, I mumbled some ridiculously low price (barely covered my clay and findings), and she was delighted.
I arrived home a bit stunned that someone actually brought one of my designs. But.....a few weeks later I saw her wearing it and.......well, it looked completely different!
You spend so much time designing and making that sometimes we fail to see what other people see. I saw a simple design with pretty colours, which looked quite nice against a black jumper. She saw a piece of jewelry that was different to what she had and she liked it. I was worried that it wasn't "technical" enough, but she just liked the arrangement and colours.

No matter how much I sell (and I've sold a few since), I will always be amazed that what is in my head is actually appealing to others..........
Yeah......I know I am probably not making sense but surely there is another member out there who is also chuffed when someone actually buys their designs. I sell paintings.......I never thought I would actually sell my jewelry!!!!
LOL......thanks for listening guys!
Signing off now before I make a fool of myself :)
