Some New Canes

Post Some New Canes
The last of the leftovers from my long-running flower-cane project went into these kaleidoscope canes.

The kaleidoscope canes turned out a little too finely-detailed to do much with, but they make interesting plaits. These aren't baked yet; I might use them for embellishment on something else, or make pendants out of them. Haven't decided yet.

Blue, green & maroon with lots of glitter for a birthday necklace.

I had a shot at making Kathi Gose's brain cane. Ended up with a scaly reptile look. They've also got a lot of sparkle in them, which didn't come up on camera.

Another attempt at brain cane. Came out more colourful this time, and also very sparkly, though that doesn't show in the photo.

Some pinwheel canes.

Your Kaleidoscope canes are really cute. They would look lovely on beads or thick slices as beads.

Linda how fantastic. The brain cane is a fantastic tut isn't it. It's a little hard to see the detail - would love to see them in real life but they look great. The colours in the second brain cane look great. Keep up the really good work.

Thanks Debbie! And Sabine, I think I'll try your suggestion and make thick slices of the kaleido-cane into beads.

Here's a closer look, the bigger one is squashed out to about 50-cent-coin size:

I promised myself that I wouldn't go stupid like last time and enter a hundred and one items in the monthly challenge. I ~thought~ about it, though, after these were done. How metal are these?!?? Very Happy

Thanks Zarina! Now here's a few for you Cronulla Sharks supporters.

Included are a chrysanthemum cane (Elissa Powell), some translucent marbled canes, a jellyroll, a bullseye with some of the blue/green/maroon stripe in the middle, and two variations of millefiori/lace cane.

Hey Linda, you go girl. Good on you for having a go at all those canes. I think you've done a great job. Your chrysanthemum cane is probably my favourite.

Thank you Debbie, I was kind of holding my breath wondering how that one was going to look. Elissa Powell makes beautiful heart pendants out of hers (LINK to her tutorial), but I imagine you could use it for a variety of things. And go for a lot of different colour effects, too.
